At UCSF Health St. Mary’s Hospital, we are committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care to the communities we serve. If you don't have health insurance, our financial counseling staff is here to help you to find and access government or private programs that may help you pay for health care.

The first step is to see if you are eligible for a government-sponsored health program (i.e. Medi-Cal/Medicaid, Medicare, disability). Financial counselors are available to work with you to complete the application process. If you qualify, these programs can provide access to health care and other vital social services for you and your family. If you need assistance, please call (415) 353-6140 to speak with a financial counselor.

If you are not eligible for a government program, you may qualify for Dignity Health's needs-based Financial Assistance program.

Notice to patients: UCSF Health welcomed Saint Francis and St. Mary’s hospitals to our health care system on August 1, 2024. For a while after that date, we’ll be in a transition period during which we're still using certain processes and documents managed by Dignity Health/CommonSpirit Health. This includes the documents linked below.
