When faced with the need for acute rehabilitation or acute stroke rehabilitation due to disabling illness or injury, your choice in care is important.
CARF Accredited Inpatient Rehabilitation Program: When you choose a CARF accredited rehabilitation program, it means the facility has passed an in-depth review. Our CARF accreditation is your assurance of our commitment to maintain more than 1,800 standards focused on patient care, education, safety, functional outcomes, and community reintegration. Not all rehabilitation facilities are accredited; visit carf.org to learn more.
CARF-Accredited Stroke Specialty Program: The stroke rehabilitation team of physicians, nurses, and therapists practice using the most current and highly-proven techniques for stroke recovery. This includes a weekly stroke education course for patients and their families.
Patient Satisfaction: Our patient satisfaction scores consistently are above average; 94% of our patients indicated they would recommend our rehabilitation program to others (p)er Avatar.
Individualized Care: The 20-bed Acute Rehabilitation Center delivers individualized care by a dedicated team of physicians, nurses, therapists, and other health care professionals who know you personally, understand your needs, and deliver consistent care. You will be assigned to a team that works with you from the day of admission through your discharge.
Continuum of Care: UCSF Health Saint Francis Hospital provides 24-hour physician coverage if an urgent need arises while you are an inpatient. Upon discharge, Saint Francis offers outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy services, as well as wound care and pulmonary rehabilitation.
Individual and Group Therapy: Although many of your therapy sessions will be one-on-one, for many, group treatments add an extra level of challenge when interacting in a group environment. Group sessions also allow you to practice the skills you have learned during individual sessions and create a more social environment.
Private Rooms Available: Enhancing the therapeutic and healing environment, most rooms are private, and many rooms have a beautiful view of the San Francisco skyline.
Convenient Location: UCSF Health Saint Francis Hospital is conveniently located in downtown San Francisco, three blocks east of Van Ness Avenue at the corner of Hyde and Bush streets. Several Muni bus lines run within a block or two of the facility.
